Look Beyond The Storm!

Life throws us many challenges.The difficult times we like to call "storms". It is in times like these that you can easily give up and lose hope, but you don't have to. The writer of Hebrews encourages us to look to Jesus for the answer on how to deal with storms. He writes, "Look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." (Hebrews 12:2)

What made Jesus endure His storms? The joy set before Him. Jesus learned how to look pass the storm to what was on the other side of the storm, joy. He knew that no matter what was happening at the moment, in the end He would be alright. This is what you must do. Look pass your current troubles and know that what God has for your future is better and more joyful.

Sometimes Bad Can Be Good

When tough times come into our lives we can be quick to interpret our situation as bad. However, sometimes bad can be good. God lets us know that bad times can bring about something positive, patience. Coming out of trials more patient and stronger in your faith than you were before is a plus, no matter how tough the situation seemed. Remember, "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience." (James 1:2-3)

Choose Your Builder Wisely

The Psalmist wrote, “Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it.” (127:1) There is a very important truth attached to this verse. In our society we have two choices when it comes to building our homes:1)Let God build it or 2)we can do it ourselves.
Building a home without God is like building a house without a tape measure; you can be sure the end product will be nothing like what the blueprint demanded. Without God there is no guidance, direction or sense of purpose.

Even the most intelligent minds on earth functioning as one thinking unit are not enough to construct a home as God would have it. Solomon noted, “A man's steps are of the LORD; How then can a man understand his own way?” (Proverbs 20:24) Jeremiah added, “O LORD, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.” (10:23)
If you want a home that pleases God, let him guide you in building it. Look to His word.
